To maintain resistance over time,avoid contact with acidic detergents or abrasive brushes for the first 10 daysfrom application. Regular cleaning is done with neutral products. We recommend refreshing the surface every 5–7 years, depending on exposure and maintenance.

Description

SurfaDur P Pool is a high solids, self-leveling, flexible, waterproof, epoxy polyaspartic coating for swimming pools.

SurfaDur P Pool offers a high-performance, two-component, polyaspartic, flexible pool coating with self-leveling properties and excellent resistance to UV radiation, mechanical stress and scratches.

SurfaDur P Pool exhibits high resistance to chemicals, sunscreen oils and salt water. It is easy to apply and has an extended working time while drying quickly for projects with short delivery times.

After drying, the resulting monolithic membrane becomes a seamless barrier to water and vapor/gases, with a long service life.

SurfaDur P Pool is recommended for protecting concrete pools and tanks or pools already coated with epoxy or other paint systems, as long as they are well-adhered.

It is also ideal for patios, water slide parks, fountains, ponds, water tanks or any other professional application where color stability and long-term surface protection are required.

No thinner is required during application, but it is recommended to use a short-pile, microfiber material or a thinner-resistant roller.

Durability : While the material properties remain virtually unchanged over time, we strongly recommend applying a thin coat every five years. If this schedule is adhered to and the substrate behind the coating is solid, the expected durability could continue throughout its lifetime.

Please note that the durability statement above does not include discoloration defects due to aggressive oxidizing chemicals in the pool. We have not experienced any discoloration (so far), but we are keeping a close eye on this issue.

Consumption rate: Two coats, each weighing approximately 250g per m2, using short-haired mohair paint rollers. Pot life: 40-45 minutes at 20C. Packed in 5kg weights for easier handling.

Application Instructions

Primer Application: It is recommended to apply an Epoxy Primer at least 12 hours before applying Surfadur paint to achieve the desired result and reduce the paint consumption rate.
Mixing Surfadur: Always mix Hardener B into Base A. Use a suitable container, mixing paddle and/or drill for thorough mixing. Continue mixing for one minute after Hardener B has been added to Base A.
Make sure the mixing paddle reaches all parts of the mixing container. If necessary, transfer the mixed materials to a new container for easier roller application. Application tools: brush, roller, sprayer.
Roller Application: Short-skirt, microfiber or thin-resistant rollers provide extremely smooth and uniform finishes when rolled in the direction of low-splatter application.
Do not use foam rollers. Start by painting the perimeter edges with a brush. Apply the mixed product in two or three coats, but avoid over-rolling.
The working time for SurfaDur P Pool is 45 minutes at 25°C. Spreading rate: 3-5 m2/kg, per coat. Apply the next coat at least after 12 hours.
Minimum resulting dry film thickness: 500μm. Avoid applying the product in conditions of high humidity (> 75%) or if there is a chance of rain within the next 12 hours.
Fill the pool with water 4 days after applying the last layer of SurfaDur P Pool.
Avoid superchlorinating (shocking) the pool and strictly follow the instructions of the chemicals used for proper pool maintenance.

Note this:

Does not apply to wet, dusty, dirty or unstable surfaces – adhesion and tightness may be compromised.
Not compatible with fresh concrete (less than 28 days) or substrates with high humidity.
Do not use in conditions of ambient humidity above 85% or at temperatures below +10°C.
Direct application is not recommended on old paints, varnishes or membranes without prior sanding/pickling.
It is not intended for covering surfaces exposed to heavy mechanical traffic without additional protective layer.
The mixture has a short pot life (20–30 min) – application must be done quickly, without interruptions.

On what types of surfaces can Surfadur-P Pool be applied?

It is applied to mineral surfaces such aswell-dried concrete, resistant plaster or epoxy substrates, after applying asuitable primer (e.g. Epoxol® Primer)Not recommended on tiles, sandstone or glossy surfaces without sandblasting.

How long do I have to wait before I can fill the pool with water?
