Practical Advice

To maintain resistance over time, avoid contact with acidic detergents or abrasive brushes during the first 10 days) after application. Regular cleaning is done with neutral products. We recommend refreshing the surface every 5-7 years, depending of exposure and maintenance.

Description

SurfaDur P Pool is a high-solids, self-leveling, waterproof flexible coating Epoxy Polyaspartic paint for swimming pools

SurfaDur P Pool offers a high-performance, two-component, polyaspartic, flexible pool cover with self-leveling properties and excellent resistance to UV radiation, mechanical stress and scratches.

SurfaDur P Pool has a high resistance to chemicals, sunscreen oils and salt water. It applies easily and has an extended working time while drying quickly for projects with short lead times.

After drying, the resulting monolithic membrane becomes a seamless water and vapor/gas barrier with a long service life.

SurfaDur P Poolis recommended for protecting concrete pools and tanks or pools already covered with epoxy or other paint systems, as long as they are well adhesive.

It is also ideal for patios, water slide parks, fountains, ponds, water tanks or any other professional application where color stability and long-term surface protection is required.

No thinner is required during application, but it is recommended to use a short-thread microfiber material or a thinner-resistant roller.

Durability: While the properties of the material remain virtually unchanged over time, we strongly recommend applying a thin layer every five years. If this schedule is followed and the substrate behind the coating is solid, the expected durability could continue throughout its lifetime.

Please note that the durability statement above does not include discoloration defects due to harsh oxidizing pool chemicals. We haven't experienced any fading (so far), but we're keeping a watchful eye on this issue.

Consumption rate:Two coats, each weighing approximately 250g per m2, using short mohair hair paint rollers. Time of use: 40-45 minutes at 20C. It is packed in 5kg weight for easier handling.

Application Instructions

Primer Application: It is recommended to apply an Epoxy Primer at least 12 hours before applying Surfadur paint to achieve the desired result and to reduce the consumption rate of the Paint.
Surfadur Mixing: Always mix Hardener B into Base A. Use a suitable container, a mixing paddle and/or a drill for thorough mixing. Continue mixing for one minute after Hardener B has been added to Base A.
Make sure the mixing paddle reaches all parts of the mixing container. If necessary, transfer the mixed materials to a new container for easier application with rollers.
Roller Application: Short-aproned, microfiber, or thin-resistant rollers provide extremely fine and even finishes when rolled in a low-splash direction.
Do not use rollers foam. Apply the product mixed in two or three layers.
Working time for SurfaDur P Pool is 45 minutes, per layer.
Minimum thickness of the resulting dry film: 500μm 75%) or if there is a chance of rain within the next 12 hours.
Fill the pool with water 4 days after applying the last layer of SurfaDur P Pool.
Avoid superchlorination (shocking) the pool and strictly follow the instructions of the chemicals used for proper pool maintenance.

Note this:

Do not apply towet, dusty, dirty or unstable surfaces– adhesion and tightness may be compromised.
Not compatible withfresh concrete (less than 28 days)or substrates with high humidity.
Do not use in conditions ofambient humidity above 85%or attemperatures below +10°C.
Direct application is not recommended onold paints, varnishes or membranes without prior sandblasting/stripping.
Not intended for covering surfaces exposed toheavy mechanical trafficwithout additional protective layer.
The mixture has a short shelf life (20–30 min)– application must be done quickly, without interruptions.
