Practical Advice

Pour component B into component A and mix very well for 3 minutes with a drill at low speed. Mixing should be done on both the walls and bottom of the container for proper homogenization.
Then, if necessary, thin with NanoPhos Thinner A (5-25% v/v) depending on the application, desired workability and substrate absorption.

 SurfaPaint™ Pool Epoxy Primer Two-component solvent-based epoxy primer for swimming pools.

SurfaPaint™ Pool Epoxy Primer is a two-component, solvent-based clear epoxy primer.

It is designed to be used as a first coat before the application of epoxy paint in pools constructed of concrete, cement mortar and screed surfaces. Improves adhesion between layers and creates an adhesion bridge.

Prevents water absorption by filling the capillary pores on concrete surfaces.

SurfaPaint™ Pool Epoxy Primer is an epoxy primer for use on cementitious substrates such as pools, tanks, fountains where high impact and/or friction loads are observed, a wide temperature range and alkali and rust protection is required.

Duration varies according to relative humidity and temperature. All tools and equipment should be cleaned immediately after use with NanoPhos Thinner A. One or more coats may be required to achieve even coverage and to compensate for differences in surface porosity.

Application Instructions

  • Apply with a roller, brush or airless spray.
  • SurfaPaint™ Pool Epoxy Primer dries superficially in 2-3 hours and can be repainted after 12 hours.
  • Recoating time should not exceed 2 days.
Note

Note this:

Do not apply thickly, as this may cause swelling, blistering and/or premature peeling of the paint. Non-slip aggregates may be dispersed over the still tacky base coat to provide greater slip resistance in wet areas.
