Practical Advice

It is recommended to clean the substrate with a high-performance vacuum cleaner before application.
The material must be applied within the working time of the mixture (approximately 1 hour, depending on environmental conditions), because its maturation is not visible in the mixing container. At low temperatures and/or high humidity, drying times can be extend.

Description

SurfaMix® Epoxy Primer WB is a transparent, two-component, water-based epoxy primer. Its specialized formula of durable organic materials provides strong adhesion on porous and non-porous surfaces and is compatible with any type of coating. It has exceptional resistance to abrasion as well as to contact with acids, alkalis, oils, cleaning agents and chemicals. It dries quickly and forms a hard, impact-resistant, non-absorbent layer. It can also be used as a primer for wet concrete or masonry surfaces. It is odorless, solvent free and V.O.C. compliant, so ideal for interior, poorly ventilated areas.

SurfaMix Epoxy Primer WB can be applied to slightly damp porous and non-porous substrates. Stabilizes absorbent concrete surfaces and prevents dust formation. It is applied on existing bituminous membranes, ceramic tiles, metal surfaces and well-adherent acrylic or polyurethane layers before applying any type of roof membrane. Suitable for applications subject to increased humidity and/or negative pressure (floors, swimming pools, storage tanks, building foundations, etc.).

Application Instructions

All surfaces must be sound, clean, dry and free of dust, oil, grease and other loose or foreign residue or contamination.
New cement substrates and new masonry should have cured more than 4 weeks before application.
Make all repairs to damaged surfaces and fill any gaps, cracks or holes using the appropriate repair material.
Empty the contents of container B into container A and mix with a drill at low speed for 3 minutes.
Mixing should also be done on both the sides and the bottom of the container to achieve complete homogenization.
Dilute the mixture with an appropriate amount of water (5-25% by volume), depending on the application, the desired workability and the degree of absorption of the substrate.

Note this:

It is recommended to apply one coat using a roller or a brush. After 24-48 hours have passed after applying the primer and if the moisture content is less than 4%, apply the finishing coat.
